Dragon Fruit

We love Dragon Fruit. There are two kinds that we eat. One has white flesh with black seeds and one has red flesh with black seeds. The red one tends to STAIN!

Sisters

Jordan is such a great sister to Sydney. She is patient and kind. She even will get Sydney to sit still long enough to paint her nails. Sydney loves to play with Jordan's hair. Even after a few, "Ouches", Jordan will let her continue playing.  Sydney has a hard time falling asleep with out Jordan. We used to have them in separate beds, but Sydney always ended up in Jordan's bed squishing her. So we pushed the beds together and now at least Jordan can roll away. We are so blessed to have such nice and adorable girls.

Easter

The Easter Bunny made an appearance  at our house. The younger kids squealed with delight at the morning's find. The older kids helped in the search and posed for a picture. Spencer and Preston were a little late coming down, but the others took pity and shared the bounty with them.

Jordan helping Sydney find all the hidden goodies!
Sydney couldn't even take the time to walk around the table, she decided to just go over it.
How cute is Adam's little face? He just couldn't grab enough candy!
Some look like they are a little more awake than others.

Foot Massage!

We took the family to get a "Fish Foot Massage". For a very ticklish family this is quite the hilarious experience. We were all laughing so hard we could barely breathe. There were 3 sizes of fish, small, medium and huge! The kids tried them all.

Sydney refused to try to put her feet in, but enjoyed watching everyone else.
It took  much coaxing Adam to put his feet in, but once he did, he really enjoyed it!

Chili Crab,Pepper Crab, Nice Cars, Durian

Singapore is famous for Chili Crab and Black pepper crab. Christopher and I love the Chili crab, but it is so messy to eat.
The kids love the black pepper crab, it is still messy to eat, but oh so worth it.
Singapore has nice cars EVERYWHERE! When we drive around I constantly hear:
"There is a Ferrari!"
"Oh look there is a Lamborghini, I mean two"
"Is that a maserati? Yes that is the [insert multiple models]"
The funny thing about this picture is that right after I took it another lamborghini drove right in front of the kids.
Durian-
The edible flesh emits a distinctive odor, strong and penetrating even when the husk is intact. Some people regard the durian as fragrant; others find the aroma overpowering and offensive. The smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust, and has been described variously as almonds, rotten onions, turpentine and gym socks. The odour has led to the fruit's banishment from certain hotels and public transportation in southeast Asia. (wikipedia)

The kids have been dying to try durian. (I really have no idea why). We finally broke down and bought some. They all tried it, from Spencer clear down to Sydney. Christopher had all ready tried it and yes, even I tried it too.
There is durian flavored everything, from drinks to ice cream.

We had some left over durian and made the mistake of taking it to the car. After a few seconds in the car, we rolled down all the windows and held the durian outside the car until we could find a garbage to dump it into. To say it is pungent would be grossly understated
Spencer gets the prize for eating the most durian. He finished his whole chunk!

Adam tried it, but I didn't get the picture snapped fast enough and he was not about to try it again!

Singapore Flyer

For the kid's birthdays we like to do something fun as a family. For Spencer's Birthday we went on the Singapore Flyer. It is one of the biggest Ferris Wheels in the world. It has spectacular views of Singapore. It takes a 1/2 hour for a full revolution.
The pods can each hold about 25 people. Luckily they don't usually fill them that full.
I absolutely love the floating Soccer Field!! The Singapore Skyline in the background isn't bad either.

Happy 17th Birthday to Spencer!

Spencer had a great birthday. He is now taller than both Christopher and me- much to his delight. He is having a great time in Singapore, making new friends and having great experiences. He has found a new love, Ultimate Frisbee (sorry girls). He has a great personality and is a fabulous brother.  Love ya Spence.
He got a very nice mask and snorkel for his birthday.
Happy Birthday Spencer!!
