Quick trip to Singapore to pick a house.

Christopher and I spent a week in Singapore house hunting, furnishings hunting and of course some play thrown in.  We were successful on all accounts.  Our house is right near the school.  Our kids will have a 5 minute (if they walk really slow) commute.

We even got to spend an extra day in Singapore as our flight was canceled. (Again: see the Israel trip) Christopher insists that I am the curse.  Luckily our babysitter was a good sport- Again.  We did have a long flight home.  We had the pleasure of coming home through Beijing and Chicago. Jet lag has not been my friend.  I don't know how Christopher manages so well.

House Update

Our house is coming right along. They are putting up the trim and baseboards. It is all textured and sanded. They are getting ready to paint.They will begin to stucco today.

It is beginning to feel like a 'real' house.

House Update

We have been so preoccupied with other things that we haven't given a house update. It is coming right along. The next step is the electrical wiring. We are busy trying to pick out rock and stucco.

Concrete Footing Prep

It is really cold here, but these guys were out first thing this morning laying rebar and boards. Pretty soon we should have a foundation layed. It is exciting to see progress.

Dirt Dirt Dirt

What is this you ask? This is the excavation for our foundation!!! We have really begun. Because of hillside ordinances, we get to dig 2 1/2 feet below where our foundation will be and fill it with a different kind of dirt. The dirt that is there has too much clay.
