Halloween

Halloween in our neighborhood is CRAZY!! There are literally thousands of Trick or Treaters. We gave out 2000+ tattoos. That's right over 2000. Our neighborhood gets so inundated with people that they set up a special neighborhood trick or treating the week before that Jordan, Adam and Sydney participated in. It was very low key and no chance that they would get lost in the crowds on Halloween.

Our friend Teena Jelsma came by to say 'Hi' and we recruited her to help pass out goodies for a few minutes. Thank you Teena, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed.

The Monkey Park

We enjoy the playing at the Woodlands Water Front Park or as we call it- The Monkey Park. We had a fun outing with the Coombs Family. They live on our street and have been so welcoming.

Work Party

Christopher conveniently scheduled his work party for a weekend when he was going to be gone. And then signed us up to be in charge of face painting. Okay to be fair, this is my simplified version of the whole story, not really an accurate interpretation of what happened. None the less, we went to the work party without him. We recruited a few friends to help paint faces and it turned out to be pretty fun.

Did I mention that the friends we got to help paint were cute girls? I think that helped the overall attitude- well Preston's attitude.
Adam couldn't wait to try to break a balloon on Preston's head. He begged and begged until Preston agreed.
Preston was a good sport about the whole thing, although he did chase after Adam after the balloon exploded on his head.
I was the biggest casualty. The water hit the ground causing mud to splash all over my white shirt. :(
Another really fun activity was to paint our own kites. Christopher and I found a really cool shop that came and ran this awesome activity. The boy on the left hand side in the green shirt is Ethan.

Ultimate Frisbee

Spencer and Preston were able to play on the Singapore American School Ultimate Frisbee Club team  last school year even though they had yet to start school at SAS. A big thanks to a kind teacher sponsor who allowed them to play. They are playing again this year, although not as often, but try to fit it in when possible.
Preston throwing and catching. This boy can jump!
(These pictures were taken well before Preston's injury. He was playing in the summer when the injury happened)
Spencer is an Ultimate Frisbee captain this year, although he has been rather absent because he is playing American Football right now.

Tioman

A few hours drive and then an hour boatride away is Tioman,Malaysia. We have been to this island a couple of times.  It has nice beaches and the snorkeling is great. The boat ride can be a bit rough, but it is worth it to us. On this trip, we were joined by the Webbs and the Adams. It is always fun having friends along.

Jordan and Libby. These two had a great summer together. Most families leave for the summer so it was a great blessing to have the Webb Family here this summer with us.

The boat on the return trip was crowded and Christopher ended up missing our boat and caught the next boat. We waved to each other as the kids and I departed. Luckily his boat wasn't far behind ours. Because of the crowds, we were split up all over on the ferry. I was sitting by Sydney and Adam, Spencer was in the row ahead, Ethan and Preston were a few more rows in front of him. Jordan was sitting with her friend Libby on the level above us. We were pretty spread out. Thankfully Spencer was fairly close and could help when Sydney threw up on the return trip. The two young ladies who were sitting next to us probably wished they had let Spencer sit next to us instead.
